Cheap shots at Fine Gael and Taoiseach Enda Kenny

Mary Regan’s ‘The kiss of death for female representation in politics’ (Forum, Apr 13) debases her argument, such as it is, with cheap shots at Fine Gael and Enda Kenny.

Her remarks regarding the Magdalene Laundry issue were designed to mislead. The Taoiseach issued the most heartfelt apology any head of government will deliver in this State.

Having canvassed for Helen McEntee TD in Meath East, I don’t recognise her claims that Fine Gael profiled the new deputy’s gender as her only attribute.
