Gardaí have rights, too

Is it right of the Garda Commissioner to waste his time on a witch-hunt because Gardaí stand up for their principles?

Whether they are right or wrong is a matter of opinion, but the most basic right of democracy is that people be allowed to express their opinion, even if they are charged with keeping law and order.

Are the Taoiseach and Minister for Justice so pathetically touchy that they can’t cope with direct questions?
