Cork to Limerick road is a shame
Several towns have been bypassed (Mullingar/ Tullamore), and average traffic transit times for the route have been reduced.
In contrast the N20 which links two of Ireland’s major cities has been stagnant for nearly eight years. Current works on this route include the installation of kerbing at a minor road junction (Rathduff) and possibly other measures to slow down traffic transit times.
The N20 is now the shame of the national road network, and an embarrassment to both cities. While the cost of a full motorway may be beyond government finances at the moment, relief roads and other interim measures could be considered.
Surely it is time for some action on this matter?
