Let the banks pay

Regarding the new property tax proposed by the government, this, I understand, is to be imposed on the owners of the property.

Well, as most people have a mortgage on their home from a bank or building society they do not really own the property until the mortgage is paid off fully.

Indeed the banks hold the deeds of the house as security.

Therefore the house holder is not liable for this property tax, but it should be paid by those who are the real owners, the banks.

Any householder with a mortgage that receives a property tax bill should immediately forward it to their bank for payment.
