Concern over Moore Street monument

The naming of property developer Joe O’Reilly, owner of the Moore Street/Moore Lane 1916 National Monument, as one of ‘The Maple 10’ developers linked to the Anglo banking scandal, is a matter of great concern.

Concern over Moore Street monument

This monument, designated in 2007, remains shuttered, lies derelict and continues to deteriorate. One of the conditions set by An Bord Pleanala in granting permission to develop the Carlton site is the consent of the Minister for Heritage, Jimmy Deenihan, for any proposed work to the monument, or for work in its vicinity.

It is reported that criminal trials relating to Anglo may take up to three years to complete.
