Late Late Show not one to remember

The 50th anniversary celebration of the Late Late Show will not be remembered for any good nostalgic thoughts in years to come, providing the show is still relevant to viewers.

Late Late Show not one to remember

It certainly wouldn’t be considered family viewing, but it will stick in my mind for one reason only and that is to put it well down my list of programmes to watch.

The reasons being that I found it offensive, extremely vulgar and boring.

Nell McCafferty’s references about the Pope and the butler were attempts at point-scoring and trying to draw outspoken priest Fr Brian Darcy into a religious debate at her level did not work.

Two people, for different reasons, who should not have been on the show were Twink and Sinead O’Connor. Twink because she was foul-mouthed, and Sinead O’Conner because of the garb she was wearing and her attempt at singing, which was sad.

Gay and Pat Kenny spoke in glowing terms about their deceased friend Gerry Ryan without mentioning that he died of a heart failure after taking cocaine.
