Dogmatic orations

Archbishop Diarmuid Martin’s recent statement regarding child abuse is grave and ominous.

He has stated that he expected we will be dealing with “child abuse issues within the Church for the rest of our lives and into the future”.

Dr Martin obviously feels that child abuse in the Catholic is profound, endemic, and perpetual.

The thought of dealing with child abuse into the future is sickening and no doubt will lead to the inevitable downfall of any moral authority that the Catholic Church espouses.

Undoubtedly, it will also vanquish it financially with the vast amounts of compensation paid out and to be paid out.

The ongoing situation in the Catholic Church is disgraceful and unholy, requiring radical action, rather than ongoing dogmatic orations to put it right.
