Striving for balance

John McHenry’s assertion that 96FM has “gone out of its way to inflame [the Vita Cortex] situation rather than attempting to find out the accurate information before giving a balanced opinion” is both outrageous and itself inaccurate.

It is not the role of radio stations to give our own opinion on topics.

Neither is it in our interest to “go out of our way to inflame” a situation. The Vita Cortex story is an important local issue to our listeners. Like all local media — including the Examiner — we are doing our best to balance a story where one side has consistently remained tight-lipped.
