Time to act on climate change before it’s too late

CONTRARY to the belief “that we have all the time in the world” to deal with climate change, events suggest that time is running out.

Time to act on climate change before it’s too late

We must quickly come to realise that our present direction is leading to catastrophe. The industrial revolution from which we in the West are just emerging has brought huge benefits in the labour saving devices, and great advances in medicine and technology on the credit side, but on the debit side we are left in the wake of the mass destruction of ecosystems on land, sea and air, partly because of mass production. Ideally, what the world needs is a merging or fusion of science with human values.

Values rooted in this context, that would promote maximum respect for all of creation/evolution and particularly for the earth’s biosphere. There has been enough analysis, it is now time for a synthesis. We should adopt a philosophy of wholeness, for are we not all in the same boat?
