Attack on Vatican reflects badly on Taoiseach

WITH regard to the subject of the Cloyne Report, much has been made of the length of time taken for The Vatican’s response.

Attack on Vatican reflects badly on Taoiseach

Perhaps if the same time and attention was given to the preparation of the Taoiseach’s speech, with his vitriolic attack on the church, Pope and Vatican, we would have been better served. Mr Kenny’s historical (and hysterical) outburst was most unseemly and reflects badly on him, particularly as many of his allegations were, in fact, unfounded. The dignified and measured response from The Vatican is in sharp contrast to Enda Kenny’s rhetoric.

This response, of course, does not get the airing it deserves in any section of the media, where it could be teased out. Then we might get a balanced, informed and rational view from all sides.
