We must not follow Britain into riotous ruin

THE collapse in moral values, and the steady, multi-decade decline of Britain into a broken society, as demonstrated by the horrifying riots across many of their cities, must act as a warning for the Republic of Ireland, which is still a number of years behind Britain in terms of this process (but catching up fast).

Our political and establishment leaders in Ireland must not wait for British-style riots on Irish streets and neighbourhoods before they recognise, and attempt to reverse, the decline in the structure of the Irish family and society. The failed experiment of multi-culturalism was most certainly a contributing factor to the great unrest, but an even more critical factor was the generations of young people in England (both white and black) who have been brought up with absolutely nothing to believe in except the temptations of this world.

The descent of Irish society into liberal nihilism need not be accepted in a fatalist manner. In Ireland, there is still time to do something about it. Our leaders must ensure that we don’t repeat the mistakes of our neighbours across the Irish Sea and across the Atlantic also. We have been shown the template of what not to follow. Woe betide us if we refuse to learn from the frightening experiences of others.
