Special Olympians - An example to us all

The closing of the Special Olympics in Athens yesterday was another welcome occasion in which people with special needs were celebrated rather than hidden.

The Games were an occasion in which the power of pure sport was harnessed to unite people in a spirit of acceptance and inclusion.

Those with special needs are among the most loveable and vulnerable people in our society.
