IF a proposal is to be put to the people of Ireland to reduce judges’ pay, the electorate should have the discretion to decide and give the decision.

It should be a once-off and the discretion should not be left to the Oireachtas.

The separation of powers should be maintained and keep the discretion away from the politicians.
