Brave Eve - Girl’s story is inspirational

The story of four-year-old Eve Barnwell is an uplifting story of the bravery of a little girl, and it is also a reminder that much of the gloom around us should be put in proper perspective.

When she was just seven months old, she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Her mother was given two treatment options, one of which was to remove the infected lobe from her lung. “Oh Mammy don’t cry,” the little girl told her mother before the operation which took place last January. “The surgery won’t be that sore and I will be asleep. So I will be fine.”

The doctors found it necessary to cut away more than they had expected, but since the operation, Eve has not looked back. In the midst of our national gloom, and the turmoil on the international markets, there are lessons to be learned from Eve Barnwell’s bravery.
