GEORGE Dwyer’s vivid and accurate account (Letters, January 21) of the extreme pleasure and indeed cosseting experienced by passengers through Cork and Shannon airports is in contrast to what my wife and I found on a recent trip to Lanzarote where rain and cold are very rare occurences indeed.

Even so, we were forced to use skybridges to and from our planes. Such hardship for all passengers! In other airports when the planes land out in the boondocks, buses are provided. Cork is the only airport where I have had the personal pleasure of a good soaking as I boarded my flight.

Until we passengers make a fuss, and do it repeatedly, the situation will not improve.
