Helpful driver

I travelled to UCC for their open day on Saturday, October 10.

I don’t know Cork city well and I was stopped at traffic lights about a half mile from the college. I jumped out and ran to the car in front. I explained my story to the woman driver.

She said “follow me” and led me to the UCC front gate, pointing out a parking space. Then she handed me a parking disc worth €2. I was gobsmacked. I wouldn’t even know where to get one or that you had to display it on Saturday. She sped off before I could really thank her, but she has restored my faith in human kindness.
