TIMELY, indeed, your feature and editorial on racism in Ireland (September 24).

The hatred that dares not speak its name

Yet no mention — though no real surprise here — of the hatred, so to say, that dares not speak its name.

I’m thinking of the prevalence of “British” sectarian attitudes on this part of the island — and among the natives at that — with particular reference to, and irrational animus towards, individuals from the northern counties.
