WHILE visiting a family member in hospital on Christmas Day I met with several other people who were also visiting family members or friends.

Only a game

Amazingly, all were stalwart GAA followers so naturally, the Cork row arose and various opinions were expressed.

Mine was that if the Cork hurlers, footballers and some members of the County Board spent a few hours in the same place that we were in that day, they’d rush out to the nearest playing field and thank God for what they have.
