Style for all seasons

THE world of Irish tailoring is a much poorer place since the recent passing of Patrick Murphy, the legendary tailor at Hawkins of Dublin.

The centuries-old tradition of bespoke Irish tailoring that he represented is on the verge of extinction. Most of the few practitioners of the craft are now well into their 70s, yet there is still a very healthy demand for their work.

Patrick Murphy was 92 when he died, but was working practically till the end. With this in mind I invite anyone interested in preserving this craft to contact me at either of the addresses below. Let’s not allow yet another vital Irish traditional craft to disappear.
