Why Obama needs to find what he’s looking for before polling day

HAVING read your feature article (‘What Does Obama Believe?’, July 17), I am not too clear how he really stands in relation to religious faith.

Why Obama needs to find what he’s looking for before polling day

I do know, however, from his own statements, what he believes in relation to the protection of unborn human life.

He has been described as probably the most pro-abortion politician in the US. He favours the provision of abortion through all nine months of pregnancy.

He vows to restore the barbaric procedure of partial-birth abortion in which a doctor kills a baby — often with scissors — while it is being born. In 2002, as an Illinois legislator, he voted against the Induced Infant Liability Act which would have protected babies ‘accidentally’ born alive during attempts to abort them.

I am prepared to believe he is genuinely searching for the truth. But if he is to become president of the most powerful nation on earth, I hope and pray, for the sake of thousands — perhaps millions — of unborn babies, that he will quickly find it.
