Question of faith

FOR most of my life the Irish Press was my paper.

When it folded I tried them all in turn — then the Irish Examiner came out.

From the start I liked everything about it — little bits of humour, grand photos, a cryptic crossword that I could actually solve (mostly) and splendid books pages.

But you spoiled all with those snide, sneering remarks on the front page about the only thing we have left to keep us civilised — our religion (‘Pope issues Irish blessing from on high’, April 22). Can you assure me that our religion is safe in the hands of the Irish Examiner from now on?

I’d hate to think of my day without your paper.
