Evidence for faith schools unconvincing

HOW refreshing to see Eric Conway (Letters, January 15) demand we all abide by the ‘evidence’ and favour faith schools above any other type of non-denominational education.

Particularly hilarious is his claim that it leads to a more rounded education. Rounded education, like the scrapping of the teaching of evolution in favour of religious dogma such as the creation of the universe in seven days and other creationist nonsense.

As Mr Conway is now embracing the evidence mantra, perhaps he can outline the evidence for the existence of a supernatural deity which forms the bedrock for the three great monotheistic religions. As this appears to be a mystery that the greatest minds of the past 2,000 years have failed to solve, one expects it may take Mr Conway an entire afternoon. And for the record, I don’t live in Dublin 4.
