Why planning decisions would make good TV

WHILE Dáil debates are often duller than ditchwater and generally fail to address questions of importance such as why do Co Meath councillors still claim there were 32 houses in the way of the M3 route outside the valley when the environmental impact statement gave it a positive rating for ‘residential and private property impact’?

Why planning decisions would make good TV

Perhaps Planning TV might make more interesting viewing. Like how could Bord Pleanála members actually keep straight faces as archaeologist Conor Newman, upon whose work the M3 route selection was justified, tells them quite clearly they have misinterpreted his views and got it wrong.

It would be great just to see their faces when, in their findings, they then dismiss both his and the Discovery programme’s objections to this route despite acknowledging Dr Newman and the Discovery programme as the ultimate authorities on Tara. Now that would make interesting viewing.
