Against the odds

IN retrospect, I think the alternative coalition offered to the electorate last May did very well considering the odds stacked against it.

Now that the Taoiseach has appointed Eoghan Harris to the Seanad, remember how RTÉ facilitated the newspaper columnist’s promotion of Fianna Fáil on the Late Late Show just before polling day. RTÉ, of course, is an impartial public service broadcaster.

Despite all of that, I offer my sincere congratulations to Senator Harris and look forward to his contributions in the Upper House.
