On the question of choice, political pundits reveal a democratic deficit

AM I alone in noticing a tendency lately among some political correspondents and various ‘guest’ commentators in print and on air to question the opposition’s ability to run the country because they have little or no experience of serving in government?

It never seems to occur to these ‘experts’ that this attitude is a direct assault on the idea of democracy as it suggests only those now in government can ever be in government.

It is, to say the least, a naive attitude which raises serious questions about these pundits’ professionalism.
