Embryo case: why should we pay costs?
There seems to be no reason why people in this country should pay for those who want to take cases based on a very controversial provision of the constitution.
Most people would accept that an embryo is not capable of life on its own. Therefore, any reliance on the constitution was in hope rather than expectation.
There may be other cases of a similar kind coming before the courts where disputants will try their luck on issues surrounding remoteness of cause.
If the award of costs against the State creates a precedent for such cases, the taxpayer will suffer a massive liability in future.
Why should we citizens, who are already chronically overtaxed in so many different ways, have to pay for this type of nonsense.
