FF/SF coalition? Bertie says no, no, no
He is becoming so desperate he is still claiming Fianna Fáil will go into government with Sinn Féin and that a vote for Fianna Fáil is a vote for Sinn Féin.
How many times does he need to be told?
During an RTÉ radio interview — This Week, October 3, ’05 — the Taoiseach said he viewed a coalition between Fianna Fáil and Sinn Féin as “impossible” before outlining the significant policy differences between the parties, predicting that such a coalition would only last five days.
On a subsequent TV interview — The Week in Politics, October 23, ’05 — the Taoiseach said he would rather Fianna Fáil went into opposition than into a government that would be reliant on Sinn Féin support.
In a newspaper interview — Sunday Independent, November 13, ’05 — the Taoiseach again reiterated his opposition to Sinn Féin as partners in office, saying he believed the “very notion of Sinn Féin in government would lead to a flight of investment, which is untenable in a small, open economy”.
So, that is no to Fianna Fáil bringing Sinn Féin in government on radio, on television and in print.
What more does Enda Kenny want? No means no.
