The Deirdre O'Shaughnessy Podcast: Children ‘bombarded’ by AI girlfriend porn apps

The Deirdre O'Shaughnessy Podcast hears warnings over AI apps ‘gamifying’ sexual violence against children

Children are being “bombarded” online by so-called AI girlfriend porn apps that gamify sexual violence and rape and encourage users to recruit their friends.

The technology allows users to "nudify" images of real people — including children — and subject them to sexually objectifying and degrading practices, including torture and violence.

Irish charities are calling on the Government to act, after the British government announced a ban on AI girlfriend and “nudification” apps and websites.

Educator and researcher with SERP, Eoghan Cleary, is the guest on today’s episode of the Deirdre O’Shaughnessy Podcast, where he explains how children are being deliberately targeted by this technology.
