Eamon Ryan not in favour of election in next couple of weeks

The National Transport Authority (NTA) has revealed journey numbers have reached a record high, with people now using subsidised public transport services more than a million times a day. At the announcement outside Heuston Station were (left to right) Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan; Anne Graham, NTA CEO; with public transport workers Leevae Gabriel, Bus Eireann; Jacqueline Reid, Irish Rail; Christian Munte Pop, Go-Ahead Ireland; Caoimhe Brennan, Dublin Bus and Aaron Healy, Transdev.

Eamon Ryan has said that he is "keen" for this government to run "a little" longer indicating that he would not be in favour of an election being called in the next couple of weeks.

The former Green Party leader said the government still has plenty of work to do and he personally has a "treasure trove" of things he would like to get across the line before the country heads to the polls.
