Man in stable condition after daylight shooting in Limerick

Gardaí have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage following the shooting on Sunday afternoon

A man is in a stable condition after being shot in the chest in broad daylight in Limerick city.

The incident occurred at a premises in the Hyde Avenue area of Ballinacurra Weston at approximately 4.30pm on Sunday.

A man, aged in his 60s, was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment for serious injuries.

His condition has been described as stable.

A garda spokesperson said: "The scene is currently preserved for technical examination."

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who was in the vicinity of Hyde Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, between 3.45pm and 4.45pm on Sunday, July 19, and who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, is asked to make it available to gardaí.
