Man shot in broad daylight in Limerick City

A man has been shot in broad daylight in Limerick today, Sunday.

The incident occurred at a premises in the Hyde Rd area this afternoon, at approximately 4.30pm.

A Garda spokesperson said that a man, aged in his 60s, was taken to University Hospital Limerick to be treated for injuries.

The extent of his injuries are not known at this time.

It is understood that masked men were riding a motorbike, when they fired several shots outside a house.
