Three women lost their lives in separate road collisions in Cork and Waterford within two hours of each other on Sunday, on the latest day of carnage on Ireland’s roads.

Two people were killed and two children were seriously injured after a head-on collision between two cars at Navigation Road on the N72 Mallow/Killarney Road, just before 4pm.
