Historic night of celebration ended in death for Doneraile postman

Taking four days to determine that the 20-year-old defendant was guilty of murder, and not manslaughter, the jury in the Doneraile case continues deliberations in relation to the 17-year-old on Monday, writes Liam Heylin

A night that began with a locally historic night of sports celebrations in Doneraile ended with the death of postman and father of four Barry Daly.

He was killed when he was struck to the head with a golf club in his own front garden, and one man has now been found guilty of murder.
