Gardaí and emergency services respond to collision in Cork

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic collision in Cork.
The incident occurred this Thursday afternoon, at approximately 3pm, on the N25 Eastbound, on the Cork to Waterford road - near Cobh Cross.
It is understood a car which was being driven in the wrong direction, drove into another car.
The drivers of both vehicles, a man and a woman were taken to Cork University for their injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
Gardaí released a statement in response to the disruption.
“The drivers of both vehicles, a male and a female, were conveyed to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries, not believed to be life-threatening at this time,” a Garda spokesperson said. “The road has since reopened to traffic.”
The incident caused traffic chaos, bringing much of East Cork to a standstill.
Tailbacks continue, causing delays across the area.
