A man in his 60s has died after being struck by a car in Co Cork on Thursday.

The accident took place at Upper Hill in Youghal shortly after 6.20pm, and the man was brought to Cork University Hospital where he later died.

The local coroner has been notified of the death, and a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

The road has reopened after a technical examination.

Road users with camera footage, including dash-cam, who were in the area between 6.00pm and 6.30 pm on Thursday are asked to provide this footage to Gardaí.
