Partial car details released in Dublin hit-and-run appeal
Garda HQ released details of the car they have so far managed to gather – a grey or silver saloon car with partial registration 141-D.
Gardaí have released partial details of a car involved in a hit-and-run in Finglas, north Dublin, which left a juvenile in a serious condition.
The incident, which happened last Tuesday, occurred on the same road where another juvenile, 16-year-old Grace Lynch, was struck and killed by a scrambler three weeks ago.
In Tuesday’s incident, a car struck a pedestrian at around 7.10pm on Ratoath Road in Finglas.
The victim, a boy, was brought to Temple Street children's hospital, where gardaí said his injuries were not life-threatening.
This evening Garda HQ released details of the car they have so far managed to gather – a grey or silver saloon car with partial registration 141-D.
Their statement said: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a single-vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on Ratoath Road, Finglas, Dublin 11 on Tuesday, February 17. The collision, involving a car and a pedestrian, occurred at approximately 7.10pm.
"The juvenile male pedestrian, aged in his teens, was brought to Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.”
It said the car had failed to remain at the scene.
“Gardaí are particularly interested in tracing a grey/silver saloon with partial registration number 141-D,” the statement said.
“Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision and any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the area between 7pm and 7.30pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.”

Grace Lynch's mother, Siobhan Gifford Lync,h led a community vigil on 27 January, the day after the tragedy, calling for scramblers and electric scooters to be taken off the streets.
Her daughter was on the way to meet her boyfriend when she was hit by a scrambler as she walked across a pedestrian crossing.
Two occupants of the scrambler, an adult teenager and a juvenile teenager, were injured.
