Man dies following Co Down road crash

A man has died following a road crash in Co Down.

Police said Josh McKnight, 21, from the Loughbrickland area, died following the incident in Banbridge on Friday morning.

A police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 5.50am, we received a report of a single vehicle collision in the Old Mill Road area.

“Officers along with colleagues from other emergency services attended, but sadly the driver died at the scene.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or to anyone with dashcam or other footage that could assist with the investigation, to contact detectives using the witness appeal form at www.reporting.psni.police.uk/appeals quoting reference 175 of 09/10/26 or call 101.”
