Unsettled weather is expected for the bank holiday weekend, with rain and drizzle featuring and humid conditions at times.
While some of the best weather will happen on Friday and Saturday, there is a chance of heavier downpours on Monday.
Friday started bright with sunny spells; scattered showers will come in the west and north at first before it spreads elsewhere through the day. Highs of 15C to 21C are expected for the day, and it will be warmest in the south and southeast.
It will be mainly dry with clear spells later on Friday night, with some isolated showers. Lows of 7C to 11C are set for the night.
Saturday will be dry for most with isolated light showers and sunny spells, which will turn hazier through the afternoon and evening. Highs of 16C to 22C are expected, and it will be cooler in the northwest.
Dry weather will continue on Saturday night, but it will become cloudier from the south overnight with the chance of light rain or drizzle in the southwest later. Mist and fog patches will develop with lows of 8C to 12C.
Sunday will be a largely cloudy day with outbreaks of rain and drizzle developing, most likely across the south and west. The northern and eastern areas may remain dry with highs of 17C to 21C expected.
Cloudy with patches of rain and drizzle will spread northwards across the country on Sunday night. It will also be milder, with temperatures not falling below 12C to 16C.
Met Éireann says there remains some uncertainty in the forecast for Monday, with current indications suggesting that it will be cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain. There is a slight chance of some heavier downpours and humid weather with highs of 17C to 23C.
Tuesday then looks to be humid and cloudy with widespread showers. It will be warm with highs of 19C to 24C.
Looking further into next week, there is low confidence in the details of the forecast, according to Met Éireann, but it will likely remain changeable with spells of rain along with drier interludes. Temperatures will generally remain in the high teens or low twenties.
