Man arrested after axe attack on four parked cars in Co Wexford

A man in his 50s has been arrested following an incident of criminal damage involving an axe at a car park in Co Wexford.
Gardaí said the arrest followed reports of four parked cars being damaged at Forth Mountain car park at around 4.15pm on Saturday, February 7.
After carrying out a search, gardaí located the suspect at a residential property in Taghmon. A less-than-lethal force option was deployed by the Armed Support Unit to effect the arrest.
The man is currently being detained at a Garda station in the Eastern Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
