Organisers of Beyond the Pale festival have issued a statement confirming the event will “absolutely” go ahead this weekend – despite concerns raised on Saturday that it was cancelled.

Suppliers and workers on-site said they had been told by the organisers that the event was not going ahead – some even began dismantling stages and infrastructure.

However, a statement was issued by the PR firm for the event on Saturday afternoon saying Beyond the Pale was not cancelled.

Ticket owners were promised a further update last evening as confusion continued to grow, despite the statement.

Fans were able to breathe a sigh of relief when, at around 11pm organisers took to their social media accounts to say they were “absolutely ON next week – and raring to go”.

They also clarified some issues raised earlier in the day, saying “Look, its unbelievably tough out there for independent festivals, venues, promoters, artists…. we all know that.

“Today we very nearly stumbled, ngl (not gonna lie). But the festival gods smiled upon us, and the fate of Beyond the Pale is secure for 2025 and for many years to come.

“Thanks for bearing with us today, thanks for all the messages and gestures of support, and see you at Glendalough next week!

“PS The forecast is hot and sunny".

The popular music festival, which is scheduled to run from Friday to Sunday, June 13-15, is expected to draw thousands to Co. Wicklow over the weekend.

Tickets remain available on the event's website - €268.95 for a three-day campaign pass and €126.90 for a one-day ticket.

Beyond the Pale, which won Best Small Festival at last year’s Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) awards, first launched in 2022 with under 5,000 attendees.

It doubled to 10,000 by 2024 with 15 stages and had 12,000 planned this year.

The festival line-up for this year includes Jon Hopkins, Roisin Murphy, TV on the Radio, Boney M and Jeff Mills.
