Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa had lived in Limerick for several years.

The siblings of a young woman whose body was found at an apartment complex in Limerick City have said she was living the “Brazilian dream of living in Europe”.

Brazilian native Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa, aged in her 30s, was found unresponsive and wounded in her apartment at the Carlton House complex on Cecil Street at approximately 7.30am on Friday.

Sources say she was found injured and unresponsive and died at the scene.

Originally from Sorocaba, a city in the state of São Paulo, she had been living in Limerick for a number of years.

He brother told the Irish Examiner: “We are still in shock about what is happening. I never imagined that I would have to go through such an ordeal.”

He said Jady was living the “Brazilian dream of living in Europe”.

“She always helped everyone who was here in Brazil as much as she could. She never spared any effort to make my mother happy,” he said. “She will be missed forever. Unfortunately, we didn’t even get the chance to say goodbye”.

Gardaí investigate circumstances of death

Tributes have been pouring in for the young woman, alongside pictures and videos of her.

As the woman’s body was removed from the scene to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick, gardaí emphasised that autopsy results “will determine the nature of the investigation”.

A Garda spokesperson said the State pathologist had been notified and that examination of the scene was ongoing by members of the Garda Technical Bureau.

As of late on Friday evening, a Garda Technical Bureau van was still parked in front of the building.

It is understood gardaí are examining CCTV coverage in the apartment block and surrounding area, as well as talking to residents of the complex.

Sources told the Irish Examiner that friends of Jady Cristine were the ones who raised the alarm, as they were due to meet her for work early on Friday morning.

The friends regularly met to travel to work together in the mornings.

A section of the floor where the woman resided was sealed off, and a large Garda presence, including several detectives, was at the scene on Friday morning.
