Met Éireann warns of traffic disruption amid yellow warning for four counties

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rain and warning for four counties, with heavy rain and strong winds to be expected.
The warning, for Dublin, Louth, Meath, and Wicklow, will take effect from noon today and will be in place until 8pm.
Met Éireann has warned of the potential for spot flooding and transport disruption.

A very wet and cloudy start this morning with bands of rain becoming widespread and heavy at times too. The rain will be heaviest and most persistent across Leinster with spot flooding possible. Northerly winds will be fresh to strong and gusty at times with highest temperatures of 10C to 13C
The forecaster noted that the weather will be "quite cold" for this time of the year over the next few days.
Thursday will start off cooler and will be rather cloudy, with a scattering of showers drifting down from the north. Some sunny spells will develop later in the afternoon as the northerly breeze weakens. Highest temperatures Thursday will range from 10C to 13C
Friday will be rather cool with a fresh northerly breeze, with a few showers drifting down over the country but it should stay mostly dry across the southern half of the country. Lowest temperatures tomorrow will range from 2C to 6C.
Saturday will be a mostly dry day then with scattered cloud and good sunny spells at times too especially in the south and east. A few isolated showers will develop over Connacht and Ulster at times. Westerly winds will fall light later in the day with highest temperatures of 10C to 13C
