Blanket ban of mobile phones in schools would be 'difficult' to implement

A ban in schools would reduce cyberbullying and the inappropriate use of social media, head of the TUI said.

The general secretary of the Teachers Union of Ireland (TUI), has warned that it could be difficult to introduce a blanket ban on the use of mobile phones in schools.

Michael Gillespie said it is "obvious" there are issues with mobile phones in classrooms, often affecting productivity levels within the classroom.
