Garda reps demand 'proper training' to respond to anti-immigration protests

The general secretary of the Association of Gardaí and Sergeants in Ireland (AGSI), Antoinette Cunningham has called for “proper training” for frontline gardaí and better resources for dealing with anti-immigration protests.

Her remarks came in the wake of a series of incidents in recent weeks, including protests and demonstrations in Dublin during which tents used by asylum seekers were set on fire.
