Investigation launched following discovery of body in Co Meath

Gardai in Ashbourne are investigating the discovery which was made in the Kilbride area.

A body has been discovered in unexplained circumstances in Co Meath this afternoon.

Gardai in Ashbourne are investigating the discovery which was made in the Kilbride area.

"The scene is currently preserved and a technical examination will be conducted by the Garda Technical Bureau, who are en route," said a garda spokesperson.

"The office of the State Pathologist have been notified. 

"The results of the post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation."
