Newly created customs officer jobs oversubscribed five times
More than 3,000 people have applied for 600 customs officer roles to shore up Irish ports and airports from any Brexit fallout.
Tánaiste Simon Coveney and Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe will reveal the figure in a joint Cabinet memo today as part of a wider Brexit contingency plan.
