Man stabbed in Cork city centre
A man was stabbed in Cork city centre last night, on Tuckey Street just off Grand Parade.
The incident took place at around 10.30pm.
It is thought that the man, who is in his 20s, became embroiled in a fight and was then stabbed.
Gardaí said that an assault had taken place and that they were investigating. They are believed to be following a certain line of enquiry.
The man was brought to Cork University Hospital following the incident but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The road was closed following the incident in order for a forensic analysis to take place but was reopened in time for the start of the Cork City Marathon.
