Two weather warnings in effect as country braces for more floods
Two weather warnings from Met Éireann came into effect from midnight.
A Status Orange rainfall warning has been issued for Clare, Cork and Kerry.
Met Éireann is predicting further flooding with “prolonged falls of very heavy rain expected overnight Friday and during Saturday with totals of 30 to 50mm, larger totals on higher ground.”
A Status Yellow rainfall warning is in place for the remaining counties of Munster, much of Leinster and much of Connacht.
The warning states: “Falls of very heavy, prolonged rain at times overnight and during Saturday with totals of 25 to 35mm, larger totals on higher ground. Further flooding expected.”
Both warnings remain in effect until midnight on Saturday night.

Clare County Council is operating an Emergency Helpline for anyone affected by flooding within the local authority boundary.
