Government hygiene standards to be introduced to Tattoo parlours
The Government wants to introduce new hygiene standards at Tattoo parlours.
Minister for Health Leo Varadkar has said there is usually no problem with tattooing and body piercing but there is always a risk.
He has drafted up a set of guidelines which would see customers fill in consent forms and be warned of complications in advance.
He also wants tighter infection control and no more anaesthetic injections to ease the pain.
The public has between now and January to have their say on the new rules before they are introduced.
