Ireland has a talent shortage in digital skills says recruitment agency

Ireland is still struggling with a talent shortage in core areas of the economy.

An employment monitor issued by recruitment company Morgan McKinley has said new jobs in the professional sector are up 6% on last year.

But it is warning our workforce is falling behind in areas like digital skills.

Tracy Keevans of Morgan McKinley has said up-skilling is essential.

“I think there is definitely a need for digital skills transfer programmes, we have seen great success with some of the programmes that have been initiated to date,” Ms Keevans said.

“But we would like to see more of those to shorten the gap that exists currently in the digital marketing space in particular.
